Brief Introduction to the Departmental Responsibilities of the Graduate School

The Graduate School serves approximately 19,000 enrolled postgraduates and over 2,100 supervisors at Guangxi University(GXU), including 19 first-level discipline PhD programs, 3 professional PhD programs, 38 first-level discipline master programs, and 26 professional master programs.

Main responsibilities of the Graduate School:Fully implement the Party’s educational policies, strictly execute national laws, regulations, and policies regarding postgraduate education and degree conferral, and fulfill the administrative duties for postgraduate education atGXUunder the university’s unified leadership, including:(一) Researching and formulating development blueprints and annual plans for degree programs and postgraduate education at GXU;(二) Formulating and organizing the implementation of rules and regulations related to the university’s degree and postgraduate education;(三) Organizing and conducting postgraduate entrance examinations, managing test center affairs and examination administration;(四) Organizing the formulation of postgraduate cultivation schemes, managing student status, and overseeing teaching and the training process; (五) Organizing the accreditation of supervisor qualifications and managing supervisor training; (六) Organizing degree conferral reviews, addressing academic misconduct, and managing the affairs of the University Degree Evaluation Committee; (七) Organizing applications for Post-doctoral Research Stations and degree-granting points, as well as managing assessments for Post-doctoral Research Stations, discipline evaluations, degree point evaluations, and dynamic program adjustments;

(八) Organizing the monitoring of postgraduate cultivation quality and advancing the digitalization of education management; (九) Executing other tasks assigned by higher authorities and the university.

The Graduate School adopts a flat management model: 1 Dean (concurrently held by a member of the university leadership), 1 Executive Associate Dean, 3 Associate Deans (plus 1 current acting Associate Dean), and 15 administrative positions. The Office of the University Degree Evaluation Committee is affiliated with the Graduate School. To ensure that all operations are scientific, institutionalized, and standardized, the internal administrative post information is hereby publicly disclosed.
